No logs. No KYC. No custody.

Zefram is built on atomic swaps — a protocol where you and the counterparty settle directly, cryptographically, without a middleman holding your funds. These terms reflect that. We are the interface, not a party to your exchange.
By using Zefram you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
What Zefram is. Zefram is a non-custodial interface for atomic swaps between Monero (XMR) and Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH). Settlement happens between you and a maker, enforced by a smart contract on Ethereum or a Bitcoin script. Zefram provides the session interface. We do not hold your funds, touch your keys, or sit between you and the protocol at any point.
What Zefram is not. Zefram is not a bank, exchange, broker, money transmitter, or financial intermediary of any kind. We do not hold reserves, custody assets, or manage liquidity pools. We do not provide financial advice. Nothing here is a solicitation or offer to buy or sell any financial instrument.
Your responsibility. You are responsible for:
- Providing a valid Monero receiving address — once submitted, this cannot be changed mid-session
- Staying present and acting before timelock deadlines — if a claim window closes, refund may be the only path
- Understanding the mechanics of atomic swaps before you start
- Keeping your own keys, wallet, and Monero seed secure — we cannot recover them
- Verifying that use is lawful in your jurisdiction
Session timelocks. Each swap session has protocol-enforced time limits. If a maker fails to lock XMR, the refund path opens automatically via timelock. If you do not claim before the claim deadline, the counterparty may recover their funds. Monitor your session. Act before deadlines.
Fees. All fees — maker spread, network gas, and the Zefram interface fee — are shown before you sign anything. We do not introduce hidden markups after an offer is displayed.
Refunds. Refunds are protocol-enforced via timelock expiry. If a session fails, you may claim a refund directly from the session page. You do not need our permission. If you encounter an edge case not covered by the standard path, contact us on Telegram with your session ID.
Availability. We may pause or discontinue the service without notice. Maker availability is not guaranteed — Zefram is an interface for a market, not a liquidity provider.
Limitation of liability. To the extent permitted by law, Zefram and its operators accept no liability for loss of funds due to user error, missed deadlines, network failures, smart contract vulnerabilities, or counterparty non-completion. You use this service at your own risk.
Governing law. These terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration where permitted.
Atomic swaps remove the need to trust a third party with your funds. Here is exactly what that means in practice:
- Your funds are locked by a smart contract (Ethereum route) or a Bitcoin script (Bitcoin route) — not by Zefram, and not by the maker
- Zefram has no key that can touch, freeze, or redirect your locked funds under any circumstances
- The refund path is hardcoded into the protocol via timelock expiry — it opens automatically and requires only your wallet signature, not our involvement
- XMR can only be claimed by presenting the cryptographic secret — the claim belongs to you, not to any operator
- There is no admin key, no pause function for individual sessions, and no way for Zefram to intercept a swap in progress
"Trust-minimized" does not mean zero risk. Smart contract bugs, timelock mismanagement, and user error remain real risks. What it means is that the risks are in the math and the code — not in a company holding your funds and asking you to trust them. We think that is a meaningful difference. It is the reason this exists.
Zefram was designed from the ground up so that you do not have to trust us with anything. You swap. We facilitate the handshake. That is the end of it.
No account. No identity. No KYC. Zefram has no registration system. You do not provide a name, email address, phone number, government ID, or any document that identifies you. There is nothing to verify. That is a design choice, not a gap.
We do not log IP addresses. Our servers do not record request IP addresses. Your network location is not stored, processed, or associated with your swap session in any way.
No cookies. No tracking. No analytics. We do not use cookies, browser storage for tracking, advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or fingerprinting of any kind. Loading zefram.co does not phone home to Google, Meta, or anyone else.
What we do store — and why. A swap session requires a small amount of state to exist while it is live: the session ID (a random token), the amounts, the route, and the addresses you provided. This data exists to coordinate the atomic swap in progress. It contains no personal information. Once a session reaches a terminal state (completed, refunded, or expired), it is no longer operationally needed.
Your addresses are already public. Your EVM and Bitcoin addresses are visible on-chain the moment you sign a transaction — that is the nature of public blockchains. Your Monero receiving address is used to route your XMR and is not shared with any third party by Zefram. Monero's privacy properties shield your receiving balance and transaction graph from external analysis by default.
No third parties. We do not share data with any third party — analytics providers, data brokers, government bodies, or anyone else — because there is no identifying data to share.
No data requests to comply with. Because we hold no identity data, we have nothing meaningful to hand over in response to surveillance requests, subpoenas, or orders. This is intentional. It is how atomic swap infrastructure should work.
If you have a question about your specific session, contact us on Telegram with your session ID.
Atomic swaps involve meaningful risks. By using Zefram you acknowledge:
- Smart contract and protocol risk — bugs, contract issues, or implementation defects on either route could result in loss of funds
- Timelock risk — missing a claim or refund deadline during an active session may result in loss of funds or failed recovery
- Counterparty non-completion — if the maker does not lock XMR, the swap will not complete; the refund path is available but requires you to act
- Market risk — token prices can move significantly between offer time and claim time, affecting the effective exchange rate
- User error — providing an incorrect Monero address, signing the wrong transaction, or abandoning a session can result in permanent loss
- Regulatory risk — the legal status of atomic swaps and Monero varies by jurisdiction and may change
- Route limitations — Zefram supports a limited set of routes; not all assets or chains are supported
Do not swap more than you can afford to lose. Zefram is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. The atomic swap protocol is battle-tested cryptography — but no software is without risk, and yours is the only key that matters.
For questions about these terms, a live session, or a refund situation outside the standard protocol path, reach us on Telegram. Have your session ID ready.
Because we hold no identity data, there is nothing meaningful we can provide in response to data requests or surveillance orders. We do not respond to fishing expeditions.
