Why users
choose Zefram.
Zefram is a Monero-first swap interface built around trust-minimized atomic-swap rails. It is not trying to be the cheapest or fastest swap site. It is trying to be the simplest trust-minimized path into Monero across Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The tools that exist for trust-minimized Monero swaps are accurate but hard to use. They are desktop-heavy, terminal-driven, and poorly documented for most users. On the other side, custodial swap sites are simple but ask you to trust an operator with your funds during every swap. Zefram is built for the space between those two options — a website-first interface with atomic-swap settlement underneath, where you keep control of signing and settlement without fighting a command line.
No operator holds your funds during a swap. The atomic-swap protocol is the mechanism of settlement — if it completes, both sides receive. If it doesn't, the refund path is built into the protocol. You are not relying on an operator to process and pay out.
Atomic settlement · no custodial balanceBitcoin → XMR and Ethereum → XMR in a single interface. You should not need to use a different tool, learn a different flow, or maintain accounts in two separate ecosystems to access both routes. Zefram handles both with the same experience on the surface.
Bitcoin → XMR · Ethereum → XMRExisting atomic-swap tooling was built for technically sophisticated users. Zefram is built for anyone who understands what they are doing but does not want to manage a terminal session. Wallet connection, guided signing, and a real-time status page replace the command-line workflow.
Website-first · Guided flow · No CLIAtomic swaps time out. Counterparties can fail to respond. Zefram treats refund and claim flows as first-class features, not edge cases. Deadlines are shown in the interface. The steps to claim or refund are documented, not buried in a support ticket.
Claim path · Refund path · Visible deadlinesZefram is for the Monero user who does not want to use a custodial swap site but also does not want to spend two hours reading documentation before completing a swap. That space has been underserved. Most tools give you one or the other — custody or complexity. Zefram is built to close that gap.
Privacy-first users who want Monero access without custodial dependency. Self-custody users who prefer wallet-based flows over exchange accounts. First-timers who understand the concept of atomic swaps but want a guided experience rather than a raw protocol.
If you are interested in integrating Zefram routes into a wallet or product, or if you want to provide liquidity as a maker, reach out on Telegram. We are building the maker and provider framework alongside the user interface.
Every design decision starts from the question: does this require the user to trust an operator more than necessary? Atomic-swap settlement is the answer to that question applied to swap routing. The settlement mechanism is what makes it trustless, not our promise.
Protocol settles · not promisesWe are not trying to support every chain and every token. We are trying to support Monero well, across the two most important non-custodial rails: Bitcoin and Ethereum. Depth over breadth.
Bitcoin · Ethereum · Monero · That's the focusWe will not tell you this is the cheapest route. It may not be. We will not tell you this is the fastest swap. It may not be. What we will tell you is what the settlement mechanism is, what the fees are, what the timing looks like, and what happens if something goes wrong.
Clear terms · Honest positioningAtomic swaps can fail. Timelocks expire. Counterparties disconnect. An interface that only handles the happy path is an incomplete product. Zefram is built so that refund and claim paths are as visible and documented as the swap itself.
